A "Special Date" and a Blizzard - January 2016

For Christmas, I got 2 tickets to Daniel Tiger Live! in Philadelphia. Probably my favorite Christmas gift! Mom and Dad stayed with Lorelei so that Jimmie and I were able to go on our "special date" night.  We went to his favorite restaurant, McDonalds and ride the train into the city. Honestly, we could have just done McDonalds or the train ride and he would have thought it was the best night ever! But, we had something even greater ahead...

A train ride into the city...he was so patient and polite! The people across from us thought he was the funnies thing ever.

He had so much fun at the show and we had great seats!

My favorite little buddy!

At one point they came running down the aisle with a ton of balloons. Jimmie was lucky enough to grab one, but the little girl (who was there for her 2nd birthday) didn't get one and was VERY upset by it. Jimmie as nice enough to turn around and give her his balloon to make her happy.

Me and my girl!

Our first light dusting of snow had PERFECT snowman snow! We didn't even hardly get an inch, but made an awesome snow man out of it. It was Jimmie's first snowman.

And then, the next weekend, the BLIZZARD came! I think we ended up with a little over 18 inches.
Lorelei was pretty excited to go outside and play!

Venturing out!

Lorelei's first time in the snow!

Jimmie couldn't successfully walk through it, but he had a lot of fun!

And... just a little bit of Lorelei sass to close out the post ;)

Christmas & New Years - December 2015

We got to take some family photos and these kids did so well! Photo credit to Dad or Mom or Evan...they all took some :)

What a little man!

And, the craziness.

Bribed with a cookie...totally worth it.

Counting down the days till Christmas!

On the hunt for a perfect Christmas tree!

"Mom, I think I found it!"

10 months old!

Jimmie did NOT want to see Santa to take his picture. This was as close as we got.

Lorelei looking less than thrilled, but not crying!

I love the tradition of making these kiddos stockings!

A happy girl ready on Christmas Eve!

Another cool Christmas tree!

Grandpa and Lorelei

On Christmas Day, Jim was able to come over for Christmas morning so that we could do it together with the kids.

Jimmie was SO excited to see that Baby Jesus has come and was laying in the manger when we came down on Christmas morning!

Checking out his new easel from Santa!

Some play food and Jimmie wrapping Lorelei's baby doll in "swaddling clothes" like Baby Jesus

Yes. Shorts and short sleeves on Christmas. Lorelei work a onesie and a skirt!

Reading a book with Heather after Christmas dinner

We went to see Star Wars one night and loved it! Funny story though. During the total climax of the movie, the fire alarm went off and we were evacuated. Geoff was watching the kids and had plans for the evening so I had to go home and wasn't able to go back in. So, I missed the last 15 minutes of the movie. Thankfully the theater was great and allowed us to come back in any time to watch the whole movie again with our ticket stub. They ALSO gave us a comp ticket to use for whatever, whenever. All in all, it was a success and great movie.

We were pretty excited to go see the light show at Macy's a few days before NYE

We almost didn't make the show but with us all running and carrying half of the kids, we made it just as it was starting. Jimmie thought it was so cool!

Doing some coloring

Love this sweet boy. He was very excited to use his baking kit that he got at Christmas so we made some cookies.

On New Year's Eve, we went with the Robertson's to Philadelphia to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. Mom was kind enough to stay and watch the babies!

It was a great show!

We had a really fun New Year's Eve celebration complete with chocolate fountains and sprinklers!

Once the kids went to bed, I was not too far behind. We had done an "early" New Years celebration before the little ones went to sleep. After we were just hanging out a little bit, I wasn't feeling awesome and decided to go to bed instead of staying up.

I got sick that night along with a few others.
Over the course of a few days, most people came down with the stomach bug.

Poor Jimmie got it really bad. It took him a week+ to recover.

This little troublemaker never got it though. She felt a little under the weather but never threw up. Obviously it didn't impact her THAT much. Still a sassy little troublemaker :)

She makes me happy.

11 months old and walking ALL over the place!!
