Meg's Visit to Utah

Megan was able to come visit us for a few days this past week and we had a lot of fun! I'll warn you now--this post may be long with a lot of pictures! :) Enjoy!

WEDNESDAY: It was raining a bit so Jimmie took the car instead of the motorcycle, leaving us with not a not of options of places to go.  So we went up to campus for the day, sold my textbooks back (which I got $76 dollars for by the way--Awesome!!), walked around campus and then went up the the Monte L. Bean museum, which for those who don't know, is a museum of all kinds of animals and critters. Then we went and checked out the new Heritage dorms they just built that lots of her friends will be staying in this next year.  Here are a few of our pictures from the day.

 Waaaaaah. I'm a moose.

 Nice horns and ears!

 Lookin' mighty fine.

Meg parted her hair like this nice buffalo.

Do you like my beautiful curls?

The food chain. Except... We don't traditionally eat lion.

THURSDAY:  On Thursday we spent the majority of the day shopping for a few summer clothes and mostly, for a Prom Dress.  It took us literally almost all day.  But we were successful, beyond what we ever imagined.  Towards the end of the day, we were incredibly frustrated.  We had found 2 dresses in the beginning of the day, one of which we loved.  But it was about $240.  We decided to check one more store in the mall.  They didn't have very many prom dresses... maybe all of 10?  But we found a dress we loved, similar to the other expensive one, and it was only in her size.  Could it be more perfect? Well.  Let's see.

Original Dress $240ish (Originally $300)
 Other dress we found:
So could it be more perfect? Yes. Yes it could. Because this one was... drum roll please... $45!!

FRIDAY: On Friday, we went to Thanksgiving Pointe to the Tulip Festival, went to Pizza Pie Cafe, went to see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol at the dollar movie theater, and went bowling! It was a busy but fun packed day.  The tulips were gorgeous and we got our faces painted towards the end.

We started up at that building, there was a lot of ground to cover!

Megan's mask was supposed to be a Ninja Turtle mask and we picked Green for the color.
We didn't realize until way after the fact... there are no Ninja turtles with green masks.
The turtles are green...with different colored masks. Oh well!
 Hiding in the tulips.

  Hard core. Nailed it!

At Pizza Pie Cafe...with our masks :)

Bowling

 And then we played pool

Oh, and Megan went for a little spin on the bike just around the neighborhood.

SATURDAY: This morning we got up and hiked the Y.  It was the second time for me, but the first time for both Jimmie and Megan.  Pretty exciting! No, not gonna lie. I remember it being hard the first time...but it felt even longer somehow this time. Those were some steep hills! But we made it!

For those of you who don't know what "Hiking the Y" means, let me explain.
That thing on the mountain is the Y representing BYU.
We hiked up the mountain to the top of the Y :)

And here's a little trail map

Overview of Provo from part of the way up.

Not too far up yet, but taking a picture break.

 A little higher up?

 Taking a break.

 We're pretty awesome.

From the top of the Y!
 We made it!

Me: Jimmie, wanna take a picture with me?
Jim: Eh, not right now.
Me: Eh, he doesn't really want a picture.
Megan: [Takes picture anyway.]

 So we took another one

Then we hopped down the Y to the bottom

 And chilled for a while

Before we ran back down.  Literally.

Overall, we had a really good time and were so glad that she was able to come visit! Can't wait for Mom to come next week and to see more of my side of the family in June for the reunion!
