April Events

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks that haven't seemed to make their way into any blog posts.

While we have lived in Utah, we've had a chance to make some great friends. We've been lucky to be able to spend time together and let our kids play.  Jimmie will sure miss playing with Wesley :)
So proud of their block towers!

I got to come babysit Wesley earlier this month and borrowed my friend's Mei Tai baby carrier.  Lorelei didn't love it that day, but has since come to really like it :)

Good buddies just cracking up, having a grand ole time.

Getting some beauty rest and soaking up the sun

Miss Lorelei, since day 1, has had so much hair and it's so spiky! Hair gets washed and the back half of it just spikes up into a little peak.
It's gotten even longer and is now long enough to put it in a little bow and still have some sticking through the top.  Cracks. Me. UP!

We were also SO lucky to have Jim's Aunt Kim come and visit us for a little while over this last week.  We drove up to Park City, which is a little less than an hour away, to stay at a resort and have a nice little vacation.  I wish I had taken more pictures!  But here are a few that we captured. I guess we were too busy having a lot of fun to take pictures :) Too many fun games and literal tears shed in laughter.

And unlike last summer… Jimmie really liked the pool! Woo! Success!!
Still a little standoffish before getting in the pool...

Playing in the tub

We also had the chance to go shopping at the Tanger Outlets.
How cute does he look in this little hat!

Jimmie got to ride in a special grocery cart that we found when we went grocery shopping upon arriving in Park City

He learned pretty quickly how to kick his feet behind him

After the pool, we let Jimmie stick his feet in the hot tub for a little while to relax.

Aunt Kim holding Lorelei.  Look at her just look at her…so happy :)

Aunt Kim brought Jimmie some pretty fun things. One of which was some great crayons with a giant roll of paper to color on!  He's caught on to coloring a bit more very recently.
Unfortunately, he's also taken to coloring on the walls.  Haha! We found that out at the timeshare.  I also found the secret to getting the crayon off of the wall :)

Jimmie and Lorelei are becoming such great friends.  It's so so fun to watch.
The hitting will happen every once and a while still, but it's happening very rarely now.
Lorelei spends most of her time awake just laughing at her brother while he gives her her binky, wipes her face, kisses her toes, tickles her, and talks to her.
Jimmie is fascinated by her.  He always wants to hold her, pick her up, talk to her, and take care of her. Heaven forbid we start to put him to bed and forget to let him give her a kiss.  He's already such a great, protective big brother.

So grateful to have such great family and friends blessing our little family continually!

Happy Easter Weekend!

Easter weekend this year fell on the same weekend as General Conference.  Megan and her roommate Janae came down to visit. It's always fun to see them :)

We decided to do Easter baskets on Saturday instead the actual day because as Jim is keeping his work schedule by sleeping during the day, we didn't want to have to rush everything into one quick morning. The kids are young enough that they won't even know the difference.

(Jim's basket isn't here because his was hidden. I made a scavenger hunt with clues and jelly beans in plastic eggs around the house.)
Jimmie checking out his basket. He got a bunch of fun things that I've been collecting for Easter over quite some period of time. He got a jacket, a water bottle, chocolate bunny, goldfish carrot, chocolate egfs and a Daniel Tiger book called "Big Brother Daniel" that talks about adjusting to having a little sister.
But of course, his favorite thing was the little chocolate eggs. How exciting! Haha.
Reading on his car
Enjoying his new water bottle so that he doesn't have to steal mommy's all of the time :)

Lorelei was pretty pleased with her basket items too :)

We also decorated and colored eggs Saturday morning. This was the first time that Jimmie could really participate. It was funny because he normally helps make scrambled eggs. So naturally he took the eggs and would not only try and bang them on the table but proceed to try and crack it open with his thumbs in typical egg cracking fashion. It was pretty entertaining. He colored on the eggs for a few minutes but once he figured out that the cups changed the colors of the eggs, he wanted to throw them all in at once. And yes. I do mean throw.  They didn't all fit in the cups but that's okay.  We now have several plain colored eggs.

Here are some that actually got decorated.  I did a Daniel tiger one for Jimmie.

Checking out all of the eggs.

Snacking on some Peeps

Jimmie has loved this little bunny today. I took it out from his pile of stuffed animals and explained the Easter bunny to him. Since then he has been cuddling with it and treating it like his baby. He will carry the bunny upright against his shoulder and pat the bunny on the back like he's trying to burp a baby. Hahah wonder where he learned that...

He sure loves to love his little sister. His new favorite things are trying to pick her up, tickling her feet, and holding her. He's gotten a lot better with not hitting her. It still happens but for the most part, it's getting fewer and fewer.
"I'll pick her up, Mommy"
"Okay she's too heavy. I'll just tickle her and talk to her."

"Thanks for helping me hold her, Mom!"

Lorelei is making the "I'm not sure about this" face because sometimes Jimmie gets a little excited and too rough with her.  Sometimes he bites her nose too...

But generally she's pretty happy about hanging with her brother :)

Megan and Janae came over after the first session of conference. We made some spring & Easter sugar cookies together with Jimmie in between sessions.
They were delicious! And it didn't seem to matter where we put them…Jimmie always found them and would start eating them.

She was a great help with Jimmie during the second session in helping to keep him entertained :) the big coloring book was a giant hit.

Jimmie enjoyed playing with the girls outside for a bit

Megan captured this moment…This is how Jimmie asks to hold Lorelei.  It'll happen at least 5 or 6 times a day :)

Sunday morning we decided to make some Easter Bunny pancakes for the first time.  They were pretty fun :)

Jimmie has been getting up super early recently (like 5:30-6:15). Jim's still up from his night shift schedule at that point so I can sleep.
So, we opted to do the egg hunt after he woke up from his nap.
I think Jimmie quite enjoyed finding all of the eggs we'd decorated the day before.

He was really good at it!
Though, he did need some help and direction sometimes.

Looks like Lorelei really enjoyed the egg hunt, too ;)
