August & the Philly Temple

So, I don't actually have any idea where the majority of my pictures are from the month of August. My phone has terrible storage...so I was constantly sending and deleting photos and apps off of my phone to clear up space. I think I may have sent them to myself on Facebook and then accidentally deleted them. Ha! That would be about my speed. I'm pretty sure I did that in May too. (Don't worry. They're on auto backup now that I have enough room on my phone for an app.)

Oh well. Here's what we have!

The LDS Philadelphia Temple has been being built for years. They announced that they'd be building this temple when I was taking my ACT's in high school. So this has been a long awaited thing for us. I feel SO blessed to have a temple close by for us. Previously the closest temples were in Washington D.C. and NYC. This one is our temple.

The temple open house was most of the month of August. The open house is the time period before the temple is dedicated where anyone is welcome to come in and take a tour of it. A lot of the month was dedicated to the temple by so many people. Whether bringing friends through or helping to volunteer at the tours, it was such a busy and fun time. By the end of the open house, over 141,000 people were able to come to tour the new LDS Philadelphia Temple.

As a Relief Society, we also took a trip there for our August activity together. It was so fun to be able to travel over as a group of sisters and experience it together!

Also this summer, Jimmie & Karsten went to their first movie theater movie! Regal Cinemas had a $1 Summer movie each week so we thought we'd give it a shot. They saw the Croods. I don't know how much they understood, but they thought it was very fun! We lasted through the whole thing.

Show me your ticket!

A random shot of Lorelei. I love that she's let me start doing her hair... most times :)

This shot is not mine. I just think it a beautiful picture and had it saved on my phone.

A cute picture that Aunt Meg took of Jimmie when he took the tour of the temple

Totally wanting nothing to do with a picture

A group shot of our little family group that took a tour. Unfortunately, Mom was sick that day and had to stay home!

We kept trying...

Never really had success

But this is pretty common ;)

Love this silly girl!!

Jimmie (and sometimes Lorelei) got to go to Six Flags Great Adventure in their time with Daddy this summer since Daddy works there and could get them in. Pretty lucky! Jimmie loved this ride.

Megan was home to visit. We got to volunteer at the temple once together!

It was pretty fun to serve together.

We were on parking duty. To be honest, it wasn't my first choice of assignment, but it ended up being a ton of fun and a great experience!

Casually posing on the garage steps after a long evening.

A great evening shot that Megan took. This picture is taken from the back of the temple.

We broke the bubble maker out, and everyone lost their minds

In a good way!

SO MANY BUBBLES!

So Jimmie chose to ride his "motorcycle" through them

Lorelei wanted to dance in and pop them all

At the end of the Summer, we all went down to Atlantic City. Everyone was able to make it (except for Nate, obviously). It was a ton of fun! But before we drove down there, we had a few days here at home with everyone.

We decided to roast marshmallows and apples and make some treats!

A girl and her smore!

Got the bubble machine back out for some cousin fun!!
