Jimmie's 2nd Birthday- A Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Party!

It's hard to believe this little Jimmie man is already 2 years old.  I love this sweet boy more than words could ever explain.  For some reason, this birthday was FAR more nostalgic than the first birthday.  I guess it's because my little baby boy is not so much of a little baby anymore.  He's a big boy.  A little boy who gets a training potty and underwear for his birthday.  A little boy who recognizes TV show characters.  A little boy who, for the most part (albeit, not in English), express to me what he needs and wants...or what he doesn't for that much.  A little boy who has so much spunk and independence in his tiny little body that he's bursting with energy and excitement every day.  A little boy who still wants his Mommy and Daddy but is getting more and more independent by the day.
But that the bittersweet joys of kids.  They grow up on you, and the best part is watching them grow physically and grow into the great little kid that he is.  He's a stinker a lot of the time, but we sure love that little guy!

For those of you who don't know- Jimmie LOVES the PBS TV show, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.  It's an animated spin-off of the original TV classic, Mister Roger's Neighborhood.  All of the little characters are the children (main characters) of the original characters and the original characters are now the parents.  It's a cute little show that teaches good lessons through catchy tunes.

So for Jimmie's birthday, we decided to celebrate it with a little Daniel Tiger themed party on Saturday.  His actual birthday (Sunday) was spent relaxing with family and going to church.

Birthday cake + cupcakes

LOVED his little wagon turned trolley

A pretty happy big boy!

He got a big boy bike from Grammy!

Pre-party

Jim's cousin, Michael, owns a catering company and made an awesome Daniel Tiger watermelon carving!

Pre-awesome watermelon carving

Jimmie totally loves this lawn mower from Great Grandma Foulk
(Actually, so does his cousin Karsten.  They've loved running laps with it)

Another trolley shot

Karsten, ready for the pool!

Some decorations pre-food

Grammy pulling Jimmie in the trolley

Coloring station and trolley
Fun fact: Apparently it was pretty hot...by the end of the afternoon I walked over to the "crayon factory" and the crayons were half melted!

Tiger-striped "dirt" cups (pudding + oreo)

Love my little Lorelei, just chillin' on the couch

And making silly faces :P

Ya know... because pretzels, chips, and cheese curls are totally new. Ha!

A better shot of the carving

Jimmie with Great Grandpop!

Grandpa grilling the "tiger tail" hot dogs
Check out those great grill marks!

Apparently, Jimmie was ready to just take the trolley for a spin

Way too many presents for a grumpy boy to open, haha!

Pretty stoked

We coaxed him to at least come look at the presents, despite his unwillingness to open them!

Loving lawn mower

You can tell by his face...he didn't get a long enough nap before the party

Cutting the first piece of cake!

Eating the cake...note the inside of the cake

Mom enjoying some cake

Lorelei's looking thrilled with daddy

Karsten slept through a lot of the party, but got up for the very end!

All in all, a fabulous day! Thanks to everyone who came and who helped! Despite Jimmie's tired/cranky moments, he had a great time!
